Best friends and frequent collaborators Ben Affleck It is Matt Damon are reuniting on screen for a new Netflix project titled TO TEAR APART.
The streaming platform shared the news on social media on Tuesday, posting a photo of long time friends sitting together at an awards ceremony.
“Best Friends Forever” Matt Damon and Ben Affleck will star TO TEAR APART. A new thriller coming to Netflix from writer and director Joe Carnahan,” the publication revealed.
Not much is known about the upcoming thriller as the synopsis is being kept under wraps.
However, the film is produced by Artists Equitythe artist-led production studio created and launched by Affleck and Damon in 2022.
Additionally, director Joe Carnahan is helming the project. Carnahan is best known for high-octane, action-packed thrillers and crime capers, including Copshop, Boss Level, The Grey, A-Team, Smoking ashes It is Drug trafficking.
Damon and Affleck recently starred alongside each other in 2023 Air — which told the story of Nike’s attempts to court Michael Jordan to endorse its sneakers in the ’90s. It also marked the first time Affleck directed Damon in a project.
Before that, the duo shared the screen in several other projects, mainly in 2021. The Last Duel1999s Dogma and 1997 Good Will Hunting — which the duo co-wrote and both won Oscars for.
Earlier this year, Damon reunited with Affleck for a cameo in a Dunkin’ Super Bowl commercial in which Affleck starred — alongside wife Jennifer Lopez — which also featured cameos from Tom Brady, Jack Harlow and others. Although, it was Damon’s looks and serious comedy that really stole the spotlight.
ET spoke to the two stars at the premiere of The Last Duel in October 2021, and they join spoke openly about their long-lasting friendship and working relationship.
“Over the course of those 25 years, Matt and I have been friends and worked together, so it doesn’t feel like, ‘Oh, I haven’t seen this guy in 25 years,'” Affleck explained. “But it’s cool! It’s cool to do another movie with him.”
On making another film with his friend, Affleck added: “We loved it and definitely want to do more.”
Damon joked that he couldn’t believe they were still together 25 years later, sharing, “If you told me 25 years ago (that we’d be here tonight), I’d be like, ‘Did we make it? Are we still working? OK, great!'”
