The result of the French parliamentary elections sending inevitable seismic waves across Europe.
This is reflected in all the labyrinthine corridors of power in the political centers of all capitals. Not only in the strong rise of the extreme right that first flirted with power in the years of the French Fifth Republic. But why is “Macronism” collapsing in a wave?
In the French elections, the political ideology of the extreme center collapsed, with neoliberal prescriptions that were supposed to lead Europe to the Third Way between the right and the left.
The former “child prodigy” of French politics, since entering the Champs-Elysées in 2017, has managed to dismantle the once powerful Socialist Party. Gathering around him many new socialist minds, experienced economists from all backgrounds, bureaucrats and politicians who were deemed fit for one thing above all: to undertake the task from Macron for the administration of power at the Élysée Palace.
Macron then also weakened the other historic party, that of De Gaulle’s heirs, thus forging a new balance, based on a decision-making pyramid in which he became the absolute leader.
The arrogance of power, the disregard for the will of the people, the wrong immigration policy, but also its incredibly aggressive policy towards Ukrainians, led to a resounding popular slap in the face in the elections.
The French president risks going down in history as one of the most stupid politicians in the history of Europe.
The victory of the far right is a symptom of the moral and political decline of the famous “far center, which is ready to do anything to maintain power”. After first borrowing and then adopting many far-right positions, believing that this will retain traditional conservative voters, attracted by the sirens of the far right, especially in times of economic crisis, poverty, lack of an alternative democratic vision.
After all, with this logic, Macron, the most cynical representative of the “extreme center”, announced early elections.
He thought he would scare the French with the bogeyman of “extremes,” but when the alternative is… Macron, citizens have apparently become less afraid of both the far right and the left.
Because there are also voters in France, what in French is called “déclinisme” – decline. . Many people, especially in rural areas, feel trapped in a downward spiral.
It makes no sense for Macron to tell people that not everything is so bad, that unemployment is lower than it has been for a long time and that social welfare remains one of the most “luxurious” in the West.
So he decided to play “Russian roulette” to get everyone’s attention with his supposed courage. But then he discovered that there was one bullet in each chamber of the revolver. So all he could do was shoot himself…
