For Antonis Samaras and in what he said at yesterday’s event at the Prespa Agreement War Museum, former Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias responded with his post.
“Antonis Samaras is right to want the Prespa Agreement to be abolished because it upsets the far right in Skopje. And it is even more correct to return to the moment when he himself signed texts in the EU that called the neighboring country purely the “Republic of Macedonia,” the former foreign minister said.
Samara’s review
Note that during yesterday’s speech Ant. Samaras said the following about the Prespa Agreement and the attitude of the Greek government.
“I also warned about the need for our gradual disengagement from the shameful Prespa Agreement, which Skopje has not respected from the beginning, just as it has not respected the Interim Agreement of Andrea Papandreou.
I know well what it means to be pressured by “friends”, certainly in their own interest. Kostas Karamanlis was also approached, but he said “no” in Bucharest. I did too, but I cut everything off and they never came back.
Therefore, it is the Prespa Agreement that fuels the nationalism and aspirations of some combinations of forces in the Balkans. This was the firm opinion of our founder, Ethnarchis Konstantinou Karamanlisof the President of the Republic who said through tears “Macedonia is one and it is Greek”.
The day before yesterday, the president of the Skopje-based Silianovska Republic publicly denounced the redemptive doctrine: she met, she said, with representatives of the “refugee children of Aegean Macedonia” and discussed with them the celebrations of the 75th anniversary of the “persecution of the Aegean Macedonians”. What else do we need to hear to finally wake up?
