Jose Quinn had the most hilarious (and relatable) reaction to meeting Taylor Swift.
On Monday’s episode of Happy Sad Confused podcast with Josh Horowitz, the A Quiet Place: Day One star, 30, revealed that when he was first thrust into the spotlight following his standout performance as Eddie Munson in Weird stuff In season four, he had a number of awkward moments, including one with Swift, 34.
“I met Taylor Swift once, and I said, ‘You’re Taylor Swift.’ She was really funny,” Quinn shared. “She said something nice about the show (Weird stuff), and I said, ‘Oh, thank you. You’re Taylor Swift. I meant that as a compliment.'”
He continued: “I remember thinking, ‘That was f**king — that was stupid.’ But she was very good-natured about it.”
Horowitz then asked how they were doing now, to which Quinn said he and the “Karma” singer are “excellent” and on “great terms,” jokingly adding that he will be featured on the next album — but that they’re still working out the details.
Swift’s advice in that awkward moment (if Quinn had asked) would probably have been just Forget about it.
As for returning to Hawkins, Indiana, for the fifth and final season of Weird stuff — currently filming in Atlanta — Quinn I recently spoke to ET and shared that although his character may have had an untimely death last season, he would love to return.
“I love these guys! I’d love to say hi,” Quinn said, adding that the “chances are high” he’d return to the set for a final appearance.
He really should make an effort to see the Weird stuff before they officially wrapped production — more than eight years after the series premiered on Netflix — Quinn would have to find some time in her increasingly busy schedule.
In addition to his upcoming role in the highly anticipated Marvel film Fantastic Four film — in which he will star as Johnny Storm, one of the titular protagonists — Quinn also takes a brief break between the press tour to A Quiet Place: Day One It is Gladiator IIwhich will be released later this year.
On Monday, Vanity Fair published first-look photos of Gladiator IIin which Quinn stars as one of two “sadistic” co-emperors in Rome – the other co-emperor is played by TelmaFred Hechinger. The film also stars Paul Mescal, Peter Pascal, Denzel Washington and Connie Nielsen.
Gladiator II opens in theaters on November 22. Fantastic Four is scheduled to premiere on July 25, 2025.
