The Cleveland Browns are dealing with a painful loss on Tuesday — the team’s living mascot, Swagger Jr.he died.
He was only five years old.
The team posted a touching message in tribute to the Bullmastiff minutes ago… saying, “We are sad to announce the passing of our beloved mascot, SJ. We are so grateful for his many years of loyal support and cherish all the wonderful memories he helped create for fans, young and old.”
SJ was the son of the Browns’ first living mascot, Arrogance …who held the position from 2014 to 2019. Swagger passed away in 2020 after a battle with cancer.
SJ handled game day duties until his death. Details about his death have not been released.
The team has not announced whether they plan to keep the recent tradition alive and recruit another dog for the task… or whether they will opt to discontinue it altogether.
SJ was introduced with a special video in 2019… showing him walking through Cleveland Browns Stadium while the “Rocky” theme song played in the background.
Rest in peace, a true legend.
