A transatlantic passenger is feeling lucky to be alive after extreme turbulence threw him out of the cabin of a Boeing jet… and into the plane’s roof.
Take a look at the clip — you can see the person’s feet protruding from the top of an overhead bin on Monday aboard Air Europa flight UX045 from Madrid to Montevideo, Uruguay. The very fact that his feet were actually moving had to be a relief to his fellow passengers… who eventually dislodged him and welcomed him back to his seat.
Several passengers were also thrown from their seats when the aircraft hit turbulence over the Atlantic — and in total, 30 of the 325 passengers were injured during the crash.
Different photos and photographs of the aircraft revealed a chaotic scene — oxygen masks hanging loose and ceiling panels in disarray.
Passengers described the ordeal to native Uruguayan lodges as akin to a horror film and compared it to a near-death experience.
Air Europa reported that the aircraft was diverted to the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Norte, and the accidents — of various levels — are being treated at the Monsenhor Walfredo Gurgel Hospital in Natal.
Needless to say, Boeing has been going through some tough times recently, following incidents that have occurred since near accidents to tragic fatalities — such as the loss of life of a person aboard a Singapore Airlines flight that also plunged into sudden extreme turbulence.
