AEK’s “marriage” with Alberto Brignoli is now official, after the Union announced the acquisition of the former Panathinaikos goalkeeper.
The 34-year-old Italian goalkeeper had already signed with the “yellow and blacks” some time ago and tonight (2/7) a three-year contract was announced, which will keep him at the OPAP Arena until 2027.
The announcement:
“PAE AEK announces agreement for the acquisition of Alberto Brignoli. The Italian goalkeeper has signed a cooperation contract with our team as a free agent until June 2027.
Alberto Brignoli was born on August 19, 1991. He played for Juventus, Sampdoria, Leganies, Palermo, Empoli and Panathinaikos, among others.
In his first statements on the club’s website, now a football player for the Union, Brignoli stressed:
“I am very happy with the conclusion of the agreement with AEK. This opens a new great chapter in my career.
I thank my new coach and the team staff for their trust and I can’t wait to start working for the new season.
I, as well as the team as a whole, have the highest possible goals and ambitions and I am sure that together we will succeed”.
