Andy recalls embarrassing moment with Oprah
Entertainment tonight reports that Andy Cohen is celebrating the 15th anniversary of his Bravo series, ‘Watch What Happens Live.’ The interactive nightly live show features guests from entertainment, politics and pop culture.
To mark this significant milestone, Cohen is reflecting on the highs and lows of his career. Although the show created many unforgettable moments, one of the most memorable appearances was that of Oprah Winfrey in 2013.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Andy expressed how meaningful it was to have Oprah on the show.
“This was a big moment for me and the show. I’m a huge Oprah fan,” Andy explained.
However, when speaking to PEOPLEAndy explained that everything was going well until he decided to ask Oprah if she had “I took a dip in the girly lake.”
“It meant a lot to me that Oprah Winfrey did the show. It went really well and I turn around and ask her if she’s ever had sex with a woman. I mean, I couldn’t let that go?”
Andy further elaborated that the moment and question stood out as one of his few regrets, despite it being a question he typically asked guests.
In the 2013 interview, Oprah quickly responded to Andy’s question with a straightforward answer.
“No, no, I don’t. Thank you.”
According to Entertainment Tonight, the talk show host continued to divulge more details about her interview with Oprah, mentioning that she heard from her best friend Gayle King Soon after.
“Gayle King told me later that week that Oprah didn’t know what I meant by the lady pond. I thought I explained it pretty well there, but listen, I was very grateful that Oprah did the show and I still am. That remains, I think, my favorite episode.”

Not only did Andy share his most embarrassing moment on ‘Watch What Happens Live,’ but he also revealed his favorite guests, including Patti LuPone.
The producer also explained that he believes ‘Watch What Happens Live’ has maintained its success due to its spontaneity and authenticity.
“The secret to the success of ‘Watch What Happens Live,’ I think it’s spontaneity, authenticity, fun, humor, me going there and people never knowing what’s going to happen. People have let their guard down here. It’s also live, we go on at night, we serve alcohol,” Cohen explained.
