2. Tototheo Global recently started a rebranding process. What was the motivation behind this decision? How does the company plan to become a “world leader”? Will new products be launched?
Our rebranding wasn’t just an aesthetic change. It was a strategic movement that marks our internal evolution and the recognition of the new challenges and opportunities that the digital era brings. O Tototheo Global now bridges the gap between sea and land, bringing its unrivalled expertise in satellite communications and digital transformation of the maritime sector to onshore operations. Our tailored, state-of-the-art technology solutions are designed to meet the unique needs of onshore companies as well. We now go beyond shipping and touch other sectors such as energy, transportation, construction, emergency response and defense and many more. Our goal is not only to adapt to global trends, but also to actively shape them, influencing the way our customers operate with advanced technology systems. This development is also an important milestone for us, as it opens up new horizons in our strategic partnerships. Tototheo Global works closely with industry leaders such as Inmarsat/Viasat, Starlink, SES, Iridium, Fortinet and Neuron to offer its customers integrated terrestrial and satellite communications solutions, ensuring uninterrupted access to data and communications, even in the most remote areas; For example, this year we developed a partnership with one of the largest construction companies in Greece. This innovative collaboration aims to leverage cutting-edge technology to improve connectivity, efficiency and safety on construction sites, even in the most remote and demanding environments. Leveraging decades of experience, the Tototheo Global offers innovative, efficient and customized solutions for a specialized clientele. When it comes to new products, we are constantly on the lookout and have all the know-how and expertise necessary to offer the best possible to our customers.
3. Recently, Tototheo Global announced a new collaboration with Neuron. What does this partnership mean? Recently, we have seen several collaborations and mergers in the field of digital technology in maritime transport. Is the joining of forces between companies the “key” to optimal returns?
Our partnership with Neuron is an exciting step towards Tototheo Global and digital shipping as a whole. By joining forces with Neuron, we bring together artificial intelligence and satellite connectivity for maritime transportation and more. The agreement concerns the application of Neuron’s quality of experience (QoE) management platform with AI technology to vessels served by Tototheo. This initiative responds to ships’ growing need for multiple satellite connectivity and technologies that enable a smooth transition between different services. After successful testing, the Neuron 360 platform has been proven to improve connectivity resilience, providing valuable analytics to improve operational performance and quality of onboard connectivity. Through this strategic partnership, the two companies will offer their customers the ability to integrate real-time connectivity data from antennas, routers and third-party systems, offering a comprehensive view of connectivity and QoE on a vendor-agnostic platform. Now, to answer the part of your question about the collaborations and mergers we are seeing in the field of digital technology in shipping, I would say it is a natural evolution. Digitization is a multidimensional challenge that requires the convergence of different disciplines and the exchange of knowledge. We are convinced that partnerships and joining forces are fundamental to unlocking the potential of digital technology in maritime transport. Through partnerships, we can develop integrated solutions that cover the full range of industry needs, accelerate innovation and provide our customers with the best possible service.
4. The digitalization of the shipping industry is among the main challenges it faces today. How quickly is the industry moving in this direction? In addition to the opportunities, does the automation of processes in maritime transport bring challenges?
Digitalization is the new reality in shipping, bringing both interesting opportunities and significant challenges. The pace of adoption of digital technologies varies, with large companies leading the way and smaller ones often following. Automation, as a key component of digitalization, promises much: greater efficiency, greater safety, cost reduction and a smaller environmental footprint. However, this transition is not without its challenges. The cost of investing in new technologies, the need to train crew and office staff, and ensuring cybersecurity are all issues that need to be addressed. Nevertheless, we are optimistic about the future. Digitalization is here to stay and evolve, and the Tototheo Global is here to help shipping companies realize the potential of digital technology and overcome challenges.
5. You recently received the first IMO Gender Equality Award. Is shipping taking steps to increase diversity in the workplace?
Receiving this award is a great honor and recognition not only for me personally, but also for her. Tototheo Global, WISTA and all those fighting for gender equality in maritime transport. It is confirmation that our collective effort to create a more inclusive and fair work environment is bearing fruit. Maritime transport has made significant progress in recent years, with more and more women pursuing careers at sea and taking on leadership positions. However, we still have a long way to go. Gender equality is not just a goal, but a process that requires continuous effort and commitment from all of us. I want to encourage women and all young people who want to work in maritime transport to follow their dreams with passion and determination.
