Two more ballistic missiles were launched by North Korea in the last few hours, South Korea’s National Defense General Staff announced.
The first short-range ballistic missile was fired from the Chang’eun area in the northeast direction and covered a distance of about 600 kilometers, while the second was launched ten minutes later from the same area and covered a distance of about 120 kilometers, according to to the same source.
According to Reuters, South Korea spoke of a “challenge that seriously threatens the peace and stability of the Korean peninsula” and shared the relevant information with US and Japanese authorities.
North Korea warning
On Sunday, North Korea denounced recent joint military exercises carried out by South Korean, Japanese and US forces, warning of a “new display of deterrence power”.
Last week, Pyongyang claimed to have successfully tested MIRV (Multiple Independently Targetable Reentry Vehicle Technology), which involves developing missiles that carry multiple warheads. However, Seoul stated that the launch was a failure.
