Critical decisions for the internal developments of the party will be taken by its Central Committee. PASOKwhich meets at 11am.
The work will open with a speech by the party president, Nikos Androulakis, which must present its own proposal for when intra-party elections will be held to elect the leadership. The latest information states that Androulakis “sees” October as a possible month for holding elections.
Ahead of him is the Mayor of Athens, Haris Doukas, to whom Manolis Christodoulakis has also expressed his support.
The suitors
Doukas proposed elections in November. He is not, however, the only possible candidate for PASOK leadership. His papers are expected to be unsealed today and Pavlos Geroulanos, who did not hide his interest, but stressed that he will make the final decision after the official announcement of the procedures. However, we are more likely to see him in the race.
O Michalis Katrinis he is also among the most praised faces, but has not yet revealed his intentions. O Anna Diamantopoulou may also be among the candidates. In that case, she would also be the only woman in the race.
The positions of all senior leaders and so-called “pretenders” are awaited with particular interest, not only at the time of the internal party elections, but also in terms of political positions, the assessment of the election result and the position on the issue of partnerships.
The conclusions of the latest research
According to the latest Interview poll, conducted on behalf of politic.gr, the vast majority (72.2%) are in favor of the immediate election of a PASOK president, while 25% are negative.
On the question of who would vote for president in the event of internal party elections, PASOK voters give first place to Haris Doukas, who is ahead of Nikos Androulakis by a short distance. Pavlos Geroulanos is also quite close to them.
In particular, Mr. Doukas receives a percentage of 21.5%. Nikos Androulakis collects 20.9%, followed by Pavlos Geroulanos with 18.4% and Manolis Christodoulakis with 13.7%. The latter has of course withdrawn from the race.
It is also worth highlighting that 11.9% declare themselves undecided, while a significant percentage (9.9%) responds that they want someone else to be president.
