It’s Affirmation Month, and many celebrities are opening up about being LGBTQIA+. For many, that means sharing how they’ve come to fully embrace their bisexual identity. While some bisexual people feel they’ve been “erased” by the general public who misunderstand them, celebrities like Halsey It is Evan Rachel Madeira spoke out to give voice to others in their group. By sharing their thoughts and feelings about being bisexual, they hope to see more role models for people like them.

1. Maren Morris
Star of the nation Maren Morris Maren is one of the latest celebrities to come out as bisexual. Maren, a longtime LGBTQ+ supporter, opened up about her sexuality on Instagram in honor of Satisfaction Month.
“happy to be the B in LGBTQ+, joy, joy 🌈,” Maren captioned a sequence of photos, including one in which she can be seen holding a Satisfaction flag on stage.
2. Drew Barrymore
Drew Barrymore Drew has been open about her sexuality since the beginning of her career. In the early 2000s, Drew confirmed that she identified as bisexual, explaining that she enjoyed being romantically involved with both women and men.
“Do I like girls sexually? Yes, I do. Completely. I’ve always thought of myself as bisexual,” Drew reportedly told New Girl magazine in 2003. “I like the physicality of a woman. I believe that a woman and a woman together are beautiful, just as a man and a woman together are beautiful. Being with a woman is like exploring your own body, but for someone else.”
3. Megan Fox
Again in 2008, Megan Fox opened up about her sexuality to GQ, explaining that she had pursued relationships with girls and that she would “find herself in a relationship with a lady” sooner or later. While she noted that she was not a lesbian, she considered herself part of the LGBTQ+ group.
“Look, I’m not a lesbian. I simply assume that all people are born with the flexibility to be attracted to both sexes. I mean, I can see myself in a relationship with a woman – Olivia Wilde it’s so attractive it makes me want to strangle a mountain ox with my bare fingers. She is mesmerizing,” Megan advised the outlet.
While she did not come out as outspoken at the time, in 2021 she wrote on Instagram: “Putting the B in #LGBTQIA for over 20 years.”
4. Gaga Woman
Woman Gaga She has long supported the LGBTQ+ group and, throughout her career, has been open about her sexuality. After the release of her song “Poker Face,” Gaga explained that the lyrics were about being with someone but fantasizing about a woman. Then, during a concert in 2013, she confirmed that she was bisexual.
“You recognize what? It’s not a lie that I’m bisexual and I like girls, and anyone who wants to spin that as ‘she says she’s bisexual for publicity’ is a huge lie. This is who I am and who I have always been,” she told her followers.
5. Cardi B
Cardi B has shared that she is bisexual at many events and after being accused of queer-baiting by the media, she opened up about her sexual identity on X (formerly Twitter).
“I’m married to one person, but I’ve spoken a lot about my bisexuality and my experiences with women. Pretty soon, ‘queer baiting’ is the new phrase and people are using it to the hilt!” she he wrote.
When a follower later accused Cardi of being bisexual but never having dated women, she clapped back, writing“I was fucking bitches before you were born… Sorry, I don’t have any razr phone pics to show you.”
6. Halsey
Halsey has been open about coming out as bisexual since the beginning of her career, but she says it hasn’t always been easy to talk about her sexuality. Looking back at a speech at the 2018 GLAAD Media Awards, Halsey shared that she didn’t feel like her identity was legitimate.
“I’m a young bisexual woman and I’ve spent a lot of my life trying to validate myself – to my friends, to my family, to myself – trying to show who I love and what I feel won’t be a section; it’s not part of some mess that will vary or can be manipulated,” she shared.
7. Lili Reinhart
In 2020, Lili Reinhart publicly declared herself bisexual – although privately she had long been open about her sexuality. Lili explained that she was inspired to come out after attending a Black Lives Matter protest, although she was already worried about what the media would say.
“I felt that since I was completely in heteronormative relationships, it might be too simple for anyone on the outside, especially the media, to vilify me and accuse me of ‘faking it’ to gain consideration. This is not something I would like to resolve,” Lili told Flaunt. “But to my close friends and people in my life, my bisexuality is no secret.”
8. Rita Ora
After Rita Ora released her track “Ladies”, she faced some backlash from the LGBTQ+ group, which led her to reveal that she is bisexual and that the song was mainly based on her own real experiences.
“Ladies was written to signify my reality and is an accurate account of a truly real and reliable experience in my life,” Rita wrote on social media. “I have had romantic relationships with both men and women my entire life and this is my particular journey.”
9. Amber Heard
Amber Ear says she was never closeted with her bisexuality, but it wasn’t until she told a reporter that her partner was a woman that the public started talking about her sexuality. Although she admits it “wasn’t easy” to suddenly be identified for her sexuality, she didn’t let it affect her career and continued to land roles.
“When I hear someone comment about me leaving, I think it’s funny because I was never there,” Amber said at The Economist’s 2017 Satisfaction & Prejudice Summit. “I was away all the time. I used to be an activist. I went to the protests. I refused to not bring my partner back then, but no one ever asked me about it.”
10. Sara Ramirez
In 2016, Sara Ramirez publicly declared himself bisexual while speaking at the 40 to None Summit, where they spoke about young people experiencing homelessness. During the dialogue, Sara explained why they felt such a connection and desire to help these young people.
“So, many of our young people experiencing homelessness are young people whose lives come into contact with many intersections — be it gender identity, gender expression, race, class,” Sara said at the time.
They continued: “And because of the intersections that exist in my own life: girl, multiracial woman, Black girl, queer, bisexual, Mexican-Irish American, immigrant, and raised by families deeply rooted in Catholicism on each of my Mexican and Irish sides, I am deeply committed to projects that allow the voices of our youth to be heard, and that help our youth proudly own their own complicated narratives so that we can present them in the ways they need us to.”
11. Shay Mitchell
Shay Mitchell Shay has hinted at her sexuality over the years, but she seemingly came out as bisexual in a TikTok she posted in 2022. In a duet, Shay responded to a video in which a woman asked, “When you define yourself as bisexual, do you have a green velvet couch?” In the brief clip, Shay can be seen falling backwards onto a green velvet couch in her home. Shay didn’t caption the video, but her followers in the comments seemed to get the message loud and clear.
12. Cynthia Erivo
In 2022, Cynthia Erivo came out as bisexual for the first time in an interview with Vogue, saying it took her a long time to open up about her sexuality. When she later came out, she explained that as a child she knew “something was different” but didn’t know what to call it.
“I suppose I didn’t have the necessary language to know what was happening. It’s come much later for me now and it’s fantastic to just be me, really,” she mentioned on Kelly Clarkson’s gift. “I think it was a creative space to just let go of everything I was hiding. I assume you don’t realize you’re doing this, putting a lot of energy behind it. Since you’re taking the energy out of hiding something that’s so much a part of you that you can’t hide it, you can put it somewhere else and create more fantastic things.
13. Thandiwe Newton
Thanks Newton says she fell in love with her best friend when she was a teenager, and although she is now married to a man, she believes she could have fallen in love with a woman just as easily.
“I think falling in love is definitely more about falling in love with a person. We’re all definitely bisexual; it’s all determined by your circle, your upbringing and all sorts of things. Or maybe I’m just talking about myself. I might have just fallen in love with a woman instead of a person,” she told The Advocate.
14. Evan Rachel of Wood
Evan Rachel Wooden came out as bisexual in 2012 and ended up suffering public backlash. While wondering how she felt after coming out, Evan shared that she felt bisexual people were often misunderstood, looked down on, and “erased” — even from the LGBTQ+ group.
“I think because we’re often erased, people just don’t have the information. There are so many negative connotations with that label,” Evan told Time. “It’s so complicated, especially when there’s not a lot of information out there… Erasure is hurtful, it’s demeaning, it’s putting people in danger. It’s a real desire. I wish people knew that it’s OK, it’s legitimate, and that their stories matter.”
15. Auli’i Cravalho
In Auli’i CravalhoIn her first TikTok ever, she came out as bisexual. Wanting it again, she says she didn’t really intend for it to be a highlight video, as she had already come out to most of her associates. Although she wasn’t sure how the public would receive the video, she said she was pleased with everyone’s constructive reactions.
“I arrived here on TikTok. The funniest part for me was that I had girlfriends in high school. I think women are great, but I don’t think it was necessary to come out,” she told Leisure Weekly, later adding, “The fans are too happy to just accept another gay man.”
16. Vanessa Carlton
Vanessa Carlton has remained largely personal about her sexuality, but while performing in a satisfaction pageant in Nashville in 2010, she revealed that she was bisexual in front of a crowd of over 18,000 people.
“I’ve never mentioned this before, but I’m a proud bisexual girl,” Vanessa said on stage.
17. Aubrey Square
In 2016, Aubrey Square opened up about her sexuality while talking about being attacked by other women. Aubrey explained that she didn’t really care and had actually fallen in love with women in the past.
