Celebrities slam moderators for failing to fact-check Trump
Celebrities took to X to weigh in on the talk, with a handful of stars calling out CNN moderators, claiming they failed to fact-check Trump’s arguments or ensure he answered questions.
“Why is it reasonable if you’re not going to moderateeeeeee. Lies are fast. CNN, what is this?” Glee alum Kevin McHale he wrote.
“Trump is a convicted felon – making up whatever he wants. CNN has abdicated all responsibility for definition,” actor John Cusack added, referring to Trump being found responsible of all 34 criminal charges in his bribery trial.
“None of us can consider the sh–t that comes out of Trump’s mouth,” the actress said. Sofia Bush declared. “And I would bet none of us can understand why none of the moderators are truth-checking Trump’s stream of lies?”

“This can’t be real life! You simply can’t! F–k! This is America!”
About that, John Stewart – who is it internet hosting The gift of everyday life until the 2024 election — gave his candid assessment of the talk on Thursday’s episode of the late-night show, calling out Trump’s obvious lies and Biden’s “standout moments.”
At the end of the stage, Stewart joked about Republicans’ pre-debate defense of their claims that Biden received medications and supplements to help his physical and psychological state.
“Let me just say that after watching tonight’s debate… all of those men should be using performance-enhancing drugs,” Stewart joked. “As many times a day as they can, as many times a day as their bodies will allow.”
“Guess what, guys! They need to take any magical medicine that can get their brains working. ‘So, this isn’t Olympic swimming…’, he continued, before finishing his thoughts. “And by the way, if these drugs don’t exist – if there aren’t really performance-enhancing drugs for these candidates – I would definitely use some recreationally right now because of that. it cannot be real life! Simply it cannot! F–k! We are America! God!”

None of us can fathom the shit that comes out of Trump’s mouth. And I’d wager none of us can fathom why none of the moderators are fact-checking Trump’s stream of lies? https://t.co/C3AkUH5euk

What’s wrong with these two moderators who let Trump change the subject? They ask him a question, but then make him mad about something else. Dishonest!

Appropriately, #JoeBiden answered the questions, Trump did not at all. He feinted, he weaved, he dodged, he lied. Biden, his voice weakened by a chill, answered the questions, softly but nonetheless. I leaned in and listened to him fantastically.

This debate is completely useless. #Trump has the advantage because it is not tied to information, reality or reality, and the moderators do nothing to verify its veracity.

As MAGA and professional America as I am…. I am not happy with this debate. Biden is clearly not right here. This is unfortunate. Obama is sacrificing his friend to promote his radical insurance policies and I don’t need any of us to celebrate after this.
Of course Trump is clearly the best choice… but let’s give it a go…

Social media mocks the disastrous debate
Social media users always seem to look for humor in everything, and the conversation — and the overall future of America — was no exception.
Many people online are clearly not thrilled with the current presidential candidates for a number of reasons, including the fact that Biden, 81, and Trump, 78, are the longest-running major party presidential candidates in U.S. history.
They felt the conversation, in short, was a catastrophe and reinforced a question many have been asking: Are these really the only two choices do we have? O the best we will do?
“Biden: unintelligible bullshit, Trump: totally false bullshit, Moderators: thank you,” joked one person.
“Okay, if you don’t live in the US, please turn off the chat,” one individual said. “This is our private family humiliation, and we would all appreciate it if you didn’t look.”
“We’re toast,” wrote another, sharing a graphic that showed a meme of Michael Jordan crying over a photograph of the US.
Social media was also full of users joking about Biden and Trump’s ages.
“Making two geriatrics argue in front of the entire country at 9pm is diabolical,” one person wrote.
“They should have just made the hot ones and whoever survived got to keep them,” said a second, while another cracked, “I say, give each of them a Roku remote and the first one to start a movie will be the president.”
Someone else online has come up with the recent – and absolutely hilarious – Justin Timberlake “Break the tour” meme.
“This is going to ruin the tour,” joked one person.
