Paul Rich it says Bronny James may have been in the NBA even when his name was John Smith… minimizing all critics’ claims that nepotism plays a significant role in LeBron James‘ son being drafted to the Lakers.
Bron and Bronny’s agent landed at LAX on Friday — just 24 hours after the rookie his identity was known as with the fifty-fifth pick in the draft.

Paul had it all to say about the Purple and Gold’s much-publicized pick… saying at the outset that he’s thrilled for the 19-year-old pitcher – ‘so he definitely deserved the shot.
The Klutch Sports founder admits it’s a sweeter experience having him as part of his four-time champion father’s Los Angeles roster…but as for any added stress that comes with sporting the name “James” on his jersey, Paul feels Bronny has just as much value to showcase as the rest of the draft class.
As for all the people claiming that nepotism played a huge role in the end result, Paul scoffs at that… chalking it all up to haters’ hatred of something positive.
Paul elaborates…mentioning how fathers during sports have helped create better opportunities for their children at all levels – and, as he says, “if that’s nepotism, so be it.”
However, when it came time to address the report, he called other groups on draft night and told them NOT to draft Bronny. Paul wasn’t so forthcoming… giving a big smile and closing the door to his SUV.
