According to the Fire Risk Forecast Map issued by the General Secretariat of Civil Protection from the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection (civilprotection.gov.gr), for tomorrow, Sunday, June 30, 2024, a very high fire risk (risk category 4) is predicted for the following areas:
-Attica Region (including the island of Kythira)
– Peloponnese region (Corinthia region, Argolis region, Laconia region)
– Region of Crete
-North Aegean region (Lesvos region, Chios region, Samos region, Ikaria region)
-South Aegean Region (Cyclades)
-Central Greece Region (PE Boeotia, PE Phthiotida, PE Evia)
‘Bell’ for strong winds and worsening fire weather conditions over the weekend
The General Secretariat for Civil Protection (civilprotection.gov.gr) of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection has informed the competent government bodies involved, as well as the Regions and Municipalities of the above-mentioned regions, so that they are in reinforced civil protection readiness to face any fire incidents immediately.

At the same time, the General Secretariat of Civil Protection recommends that citizens take special care and avoid outdoor actions that could cause a fire due to negligence, such as burning grass and dry branches or cleaning waste, using machines that cause sparks such as circular saws, welding devices, use of outdoor grills, smoking bees, throwing lit cigarettes, etc. Furthermore, remember that during the fire protection season, burning of fields is prohibited.
In the event of a fire, citizens are invited to immediately notify the Fire Department by dialing 199.
