Celine Dion participated in the 2024 NHL Draft in Las Vegas on Friday — and she even attended the event despite her ongoing battle with a rare neurological disorder.
The iconic singer appeared to be in great spirits as she arrived at The Sphere in Sin City to take part in the National Hockey League’s big night.
During this, Celine walked on stage in a fancy dress and approached a microphone, telling the audience that she was excited while joking that she’s “not even a hockey mom.”
Celine then opened an envelope and announced the Montreal Canadiens’ fifth overall pick during the first round of the draft. The player’s name was Ivan Demidovwho hugged friends and family before going on stage to shake hands with Celine, an avid fan of the Canadians.
It was a sweet moment made even better by Celine’s physical presence. She doesn’t go out much anymore due to her illness.

Parts of the doc are actually scary, showing Celine at one point having a ten minute seizure as she desperately tries to catch her breath while surrounded by medical professionals treating her muscle spasms.
