Here’s the first look Bronny James in purple and gold – LeBron’s son will wear Lakers number 9… just like “Jr.” on your nameplate.
LA just released images of its newest rookie on Friday… showing the 19-year-old guard wearing the gear with pride.
The number is interesting — Bronny finished sixth with the USC Trojans last season, but that’s retired from the league in honor of the NBA legend Bill Russell.
Before that, he wore the number 0 jersey with Sierra Canyon… but it currently belongs to his teammate Jalen Hood-Schifino.
So maybe Bronny settled for the new one since his old number is upside down??
Bronny is famous for not wearing his father’s iconic number 23 jersey — with LeBron explaining that he didn’t want people to know who he was on the court (yes, we know… the name kind of gives it away).
As for the back of the jersey, James will have “Jr.” on his back – which is pretty standard, but also begs the question – LeBron will now have “Mr.” on your shirts??
If so, expect jersey sales to skyrocket… because any LeBron Stan will need to add this to their collection.
As we previously reported, Bronny ranked 55th overall to the Lake Show in the second round of the NBA Draft on Thursday … a move that has the entire basketball world excited.

@Lakers
This made LeBron and Bronny the first father-son duo in NBA history — let alone the first father-son teammates.
The shirts are already on sale… and we believe they will be the best sellers in the rookie category.
