“Screw this. They can’t fire me again,” Padalecki said, before giving his “brutally credible” opinion about the community.
After being a staple on The CW (and its predecessor, The WB) for over 20 years, Jared Padalecki is saying goodbye to the community after the top of walker — and sharing his very candid thoughts on the course The CW seems to be taking.

“I feel like the CW that I was a part of last year is not the CW that I was a part of under (former president and CEO) Mark Pedowitz for this entire nearly 20-year period,” Padalecki said. “They’re just changing the network, where it probably won’t be network TV as much as it would be, ‘Here’s something fun for an hour that you’ll never watch again,’ however, I hope you watch it. And it’s low cost!’ And I hate to say this, but I’m just being trustworthy. I mean, fuck it. They can’t fire me again. I’m simply being brutally trustworthy. I guess it seemed to me like they were looking for very simple, cheap content that they could make up for their time with.
Padalecki made his debut in the community in 2000, along with his prominent position as Dean of Forestry in Gilmore Womenappearing in the collection until 2005, when it solidified into Supernatural. The WB grew to become The CW in 2006, and Supernatural ran on the network for an impressive 11 seasons, before wrapping up in 2020. The following year, Padalecki led – and produced – walkera reinterpretation of the traditional Chuck Norris. The CW canceled the collection last month because the fourth season was airing. O walker the collection’s finale aired on Wednesday.

When Selection asked Padalecki if The CW gave him a reason for the cancellation — comparable to funding — he stated, “Yes. I spoke to the head of CBS (studios) and the head of Nexstar/CW, I spoke to the other (executive producers) at walkerand I believe it was a multivariate kind of challenge.”
“My understanding is — and again, this is exactly what I’ve been told — that Nexstar is on a special course with The CW,” he added of the media company, which acquired The CW in 2022. “I mean , they have an hour to Trivial Pursuit and an hour of Scrabble in development. I don’t know why you wouldn’t just download the app or pick up a board game and play with your friends, but they’re obviously just — what’s that quote? It’s like, ‘If someone tells you who they are, ask questions. If someone reveals who they are, consider them.'”
During an interview with TV LinePadalecki spoke about his 24 years at Community TV, revealed how he is feeling now and shared his thoughts on how he feels about the business now.
“I was exhausted 20 years ago,” he said, amused. “I’m me am exhausted. I once came across this walker I wasn’t going to do a fifth season, which was on a Tuesday, and I left for Europe on a Friday, half work, half play. However, I was in Europe for about three and a half weeks with family and a little bit of work, a lot of traveling. So, I was only in the US for four days in the last month, and so, I didn’t really have time to fully understand it.”

“As right as I am, I am exhausted. I am drained. I’m grateful. Like, I’m not digging ditches. I’m not doing Pink Cross work and saving human beings,” he added. “However, yes, I’m pretty burned out. I’m a little disillusioned with the state of the business that I love and have been working in for 24 years. So I have a lot to think about, and I have a lot of time to be with my wife and our kids, my friends, and think about where this business is.”
As for what’s next for Padalecki, he said he doesn’t think he needs to be tied down to a long-running TV show again, but he hinted that he’s curious about something smaller that doesn’t require him to make so many sacrifices, especially being away from his home. family.
“With TV shows, sometimes it lasts 15 years, and sometimes they say, ‘Hey, where do you live? OK, we’re taking photos in Vancouver,” said Padalecki, who shares children Thomas, Austin and Odette with wife Genevieve Padalecki. “You say, ‘But my family, my wife and kids are in Austin.’ Like, ‘Well, good for them. They will come with a transfer right here. Here’s a thousand dollars to take them. It is not for the weak of mind. Like, you really have to sacrifice a lot, and I sacrificed all I have had to sacrifice for many, many years, and I believe I have reached a point in my life where I need to spend more time with my wife and children.”
“If an opportunity arises on a TV show, as I spoke to Kripke about The boys things like, ‘Yeah, I’m going to play with you for a month. Yeah, I’m going to play with you for 2 months, for six weeks, or it doesn’t matter’ or ‘Yeah, I’m going to show up every week of every month for the next three months.’”
