Hannah Gutierrez-Reed“Rust” gunsmith claims New Mexico prosecutors withheld data that could have helped her show that the gun used in the deadly shooting may have gone off without warning. Alex Baldwin pulling the device.
Based on new authorized documents filed Thursday and obtained by TMZ, Gutierrez-Reed claims that prosecutors were sitting on exculpatory evidence during her current manslaughter trial, which resulted in a conviction, and an 18-month prison sentence for her.
In the documents, Hannah’s lawyer, Jason Bowlesalleges that prosecutors withheld a report that demonstrated the gun had “unexplained” changes to the trigger that were likely not the results of FBI trigger testing and did not appear to be original manufacturing marks.
Hannah claims the gun went off on its own… and the report her legal team is talking about was filed as part of Alec’s pretrial proceedings.
