The Seine is still polluted just a month before the start of the Olympics, according to analyses published Friday by Paris city hall for the week of June 16-23.
The numbers far exceed the standards required for holding the Games. “Water quality continues to be degraded due to an unfavorable hydrological situation: rainfall, high flows, little sunlight, temperatures below seasonal standards and pollution,” the city government said.
In theory there will be three modalities: triathlon, swimming and paratriathlon, all scheduled to take place in the center of Paris.
