“Her road to recovery may be long,” the 19-year-old actress’ mother wrote on Facebook, exactly one month after Laverock fell five stories from a hospital balcony, suffering “life-threatening accidents.”
The mother of When the coronary heart calls star Mamie Laverock is giving an update on the actress’ situation a month later a five-story fall from the balcony of a hospital he left her with life support.
On Wednesday, exactly one month after Laverock’s tragic accident, Nicole Rockmann shared a post on Facebook amidst the restoration of his 19-year-old daughter.

“Thank you for your therapeutic messages for Mamie,” Rockmann wrote. “Mamie survived her accidents, but her road to recovery may be long.”
“I can open a mailbox for all your game cards and needs soon,” she added, before hanging up, “Calm down, Nicole.”
It comes just weeks after a photo was posted on Laverock’s Facebook that showed her hand – which was attached to an IV drip – holding a teddy bear as she lay in a hospital bed.
Laverock’s fall occurred on May 26, two weeks after she first experienced a medical emergency and was taken to the hospital. Her parents did not specify the emergency, but hinted at its severity in a GoFundMe web page for her, writing that Nicole managed to “get there in time to save her life.”
At the time, she was transferred to a hospital in Vancouver, according to her parents, where she was expected to remain “for more than a month or so”. They also said that “her recovery is unclear at this time, but she is alive and showing signs of improvement.”
This was all before the fall update hit the GoFundMe page. The mother and father wrote that after two weeks of “intensive care,” their daughter “was escorted out of a secure hospital unit and taken to a balcony walkway, from which five bucks fell.”
As of fall, the family mentioned that Laverock has suffered “life-threatening accidents” and has already “undergone a series of intensive surgical procedures.”
Rockmann shared an update on May 30, telling the Los Angeles Occasions that Laverock had “just opened his eyes” for the first time.
“Let’s just hope this is the turnaround and she gets over it now. I couldn’t be happier that people reached out and cared,” she said. “History can be instructed.”
Rockmann said her daughter was still on life support but was not on a ventilator. Although she did not share details about Laverock’s accidents, she said her daughter’s body was “shattered” and that she was in “great pain.”
According to Rockmann, her daughter’s fall was not “intentional” or a suicide attempt. Laverock’s mother said she blames the hospital — St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver — for the accident, saying the family plans to take legal action against the health center.

“This is an absolute miracle and there will be accountability,” she told the LA Times.
“We now have a case. All we care about is that Mamie can make a recovery and that she is alive, fighting and strong,” said Rockmann. “It’s unbelievable that she’s with us.”
In a statement to the LA Times, Ann Gibbon, a spokeswoman for Windfall Health Care, which operates St. Paul’s Hospital, did not share specific details because of patient confidentiality. However, she did verify that “an incident did occur.”
“In cases related to the safety of those affected, an internal assessment of the critical incident is performed to determine exactly what happened and make suggestions to improve the safety of those affected,” Gibbon said in a statement. “Our hearts go out to the affected person, the family and everyone affected by this event, and we have addressed our greatest needs for a complete restoration.”
