Jason Kelce says he can see the impact Taylor Swift had in his brother, Travis Kelce.
On Thursday, the 36-year-old man former Philadelphia Eagles player appeared at a fundraiser for the Eagles Autism Foundation and spoke with reporters about how Taylor, 34, has changed Travis, 34, for the better.
“Yeah, there’s no doubt about it. I mean, it more than changed Travis’ (life),” Jason said of the singer and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end’s relationship, according to a video posted in X (formerly Twitter) by CBS reporter Alicia Roberts.
Jason – who recently participated Taylor’s Eras Tour Shows in London next to his wife, Kylie Kelceand I still had the opportunity to meet Prince William and two of his children during the trip across the pond – continued: “We just want to support him and their relationship and everything they have going on because it’s so wonderful right now.”
Travis – or “the Chiefs guy,” as Taylor aptly nicknamed him – started dating the “Cruel Summer” singer in summer 2023. The exact date on which your romance started is unknown, but it is believed to be between the Eras Tour show at Arrowhead Stadium (the home of the Chiefs) in July 2023 and September 24, when Taylor attended his first game to watch Travis in action.
In the following months, the couple’s adorable interactions took the world by storm, including many viral moments from Travis at Eras Tour shows around the world. Even better, after watching Taylor from the VIP tent countless times… even memorizing your choreography – he finally did his stage debut in London over the weekend, much to the surprise of fans in the audience.
Although Jason and Kylie weren’t there to watch Travis wear a tux and top hat during Taylor’s The Department of Tortured Poets playlist on June 23, at Wembley Stadium, the couple — who have daughters Wyatt, 4, Elliotte, 3, and Bennett, 1 — were able to experience the Eras Tour for the first time.
“It was an explosion last weekend,” Jason told reporters on Thursday. “We were in London for those shows. And Taylor, what she’s accomplished not just in that short period of time but throughout her career, is really remarkable.”
Jason, it’s over recording the New heights podcast he hosts with Travis from a Philadelphia-themed bar in England, added support for Travis on this new journey: “He’s my brother, he’ll always be my brother.”
During the latest episode of Travis and Jason’s show — named after their hometown of Cleveland Heights, Ohio — Jason sweetly shouted out the highlight of the show, which happened to be meet a specific member of the royal family.
“Prince William was fantastic, but the highlight was Princess Charlotte,” said the father of three girls, adding: “Prince George It was great too.”
“She had a fire in her,” he added of Prince William’s second son, 9. “She was asking questions. That was the most electric part.”
It’s no surprise that Charlotte was thrilled during her meeting with Taylor and the Kelce brothers. On Monday, a source told ET that Charlotte — who was accompanied by her father, 42, and her older brother, Prince George10, no show – is the true Swiftie of the family.
“Charlotte loved it (the concert),” he said. source shared with ET“They are truly wonderful children. William and Kate have done a fantastic job raising all three of them. They understand and appreciate how lucky they are to have met someone like Taylor Swift.”
Just Prince Louis6, did not attend the Eras Tour because I stayed at home with his mother, Kate Middleton. The Princess of Wales, 42, has been absent from royal duties in recent months after revealing she was undergoing chemotherapy for an unknown form of cancer.
In the latest episode of the podcast, Jason also applauded Prince William and her two young children, saying she assumed it would be “difficult to be a realistic human being” as a member of the royal family, but that they “completely seemed that way.”
The NFL alum has previously expressed similar concerns when it comes to American royalty — aka his brother’s girlfriend and (by association) his brother. During an appearance at Andrew Santino’s Ginger Whiskey podcast in early June, Jason shared his disbelief at the stratosphere of fame Travis and Taylor are in during this part of their lives.
“Travis and Taylor took it to another level and that’s a whole other side of it,” he said. “Kylie and I think we’re in a bad place, and then we’ll hang out with one of them for a second. This is a whole different situation here. That’s a whole different person at that moment.”
Despite being constantly in the spotlight and having to endure days and often weeks apart due to their busy schedules, sources tell ET that Taylor and Travis see a real future together and they are committed to making their relationship work.
A source told ET in June: “Taylor and Travis are making sure the current long-distance aspect of their relationship doesn’t last long. They both shift their schedules if it’s feasible and try to carve out as much time as they can to see each other, as well as each other’s families and friends.”
The source added: “They prioritize each other and will do anything and everything to make each other happy. Their relationship is genuine and they both want it to work, so it does.”
