“Gross” is characterized by attack outside the house of the president of the Federal Supreme Courtwhich occurred on Thursday at approximately 12:45 p.m.
The perpetrators threw Molotov cocktails outside the house and at the EL.AS conventional vehicle while the 42-year-old deputy police officer who was inside the car managed to get out in time and is being treated for second-degree burns at the 401st Military Hospital.

K. Dimoglidou: A purely murderous attack
In her statements this morning to the television station Action 24, ELAS press representative, K. Dimoglidou, stated that there is constant surveillance in the specific building and also patrols that pass by at regular intervals, noting that the perpetrators were apparently observing the police officer’s movements.
“They stood right next to him and threw a Molotov cocktail at him to burn him alive. It’s clearly a murderous attack on the police officer,” he said. According to Ms Dimoglidou, the injured police officer is being treated for severe burns.
Investigations are in full swing with any material that could help, whether from the remains found in the service vehicle or from video footage, he added.
She noted that – according to what the injured officer was able to say – there were allegedly at least three perpetrators. According to initial reports, the perpetrators were traveling in a vehicle.
Condemn the Union of Judges and Prosecutors and Bar Associations
The attack on the door of the house of the president of the Federal Supreme Court is condemned by the Union of Judges and Prosecutors and by the plenary of presidents of the country’s bar associations.
Announcement from the association of judges and prosecutors
The Union of Judges and Prosecutors unequivocally condemns last night’s attack by unknown assailants with Molotov cocktails on the residence of the President of the Supreme Court, which resulted in the injury of a police guard. Criminal actions against judicial officials harm democratic functioning and aim to create a climate of fear and tension in the judicial system as a whole, without achieving their objective. Acts of violence do not distort the free will of judges to exercise their functions conscientiously.
Announcement of the Plenary of Bar Associations
The Coordinating Committee of the Plenary Session of the Presidents of the Greek Bar Associations condemns in the most categorical terms the attack outside the house of the President of the Supreme Court, which, in fact, resulted in the injury of a police officer.
Violence, wherever it comes from, has no place in Democracy and the Rule of Law.
