A protective wall for former Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, who has been under constant fire for the past twenty-four hours since the Stefanos Kasselakis with tips on existence “dirty money” but also with allegations that he is responsible about blocking in “Avgi”raise one after another the SYRIZA executives.
Reacting to the attitude of Mr. Kasselakis who for another day left clear clues from the USA about the economic functioning of SYRIZA during his mandate Alexis Tsipras, several party officials expressed their discontent with the operation to deconstruct the former prime minister by the new leadership. They guaranteed, in fact, that Mr. Tsipras’ government was the most honest in the post-colonial era and replied to Mr. Kasselakis that not even the ND dared to make such statements in the past.
Gerovasili: The Tsipras government handed over full coffers
“It really surprises me if the president meant and included SYRIZA in this discussion,” said Olga Gerovasilis, commenting on Mr. Kasselakis’ hints about “dark money” and noting that Alexis Tsipras’ SYRIZA “is the only government that has delivered to the country with full coffers – this has never happened before – and took the country out of the memo loop, without ever giving the slightest reason, despite having “thrown away” the system, even about how Alexis Tsipras was taking his children for a bath… ” . “Whoever has evidence must present it and justice must do its work. If I had noticed and had proof, I would have taken it personally to the Public Prosecutor’s Office”, added the vice-president of Parliament aloud.
Zachariadis: Tsipras’ honesty was not questioned even by his opponents
Former MP Kostas Zachariadis also expressed his displeasure with Mr Kasselakis’ objections to Alexis Tsipras on issues of ethics and transparency. “Even Tsipras’s toughest political opponents never questioned his honesty,” he said, essentially accusing Kasselakis of having gone too far in criticizing even the ND. “If anyone has evidence of something different, they can take it to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, while Tsipras was in power he established limits,” he added.
Giannoulis: The Tsipras government was the most honest in the country
MP Christos Giannoulis also responded to Mr Kasselakis’s insinuations, clarifying that “SYRIZA-PS has never resorted, nor will it resort, to ‘black money’ to deal with the party’s financial problems. “The SYRIZA-PS government was the most honest government the country has ever known. There was not the slightest shadow in the management of public money”, he stressed. At the same time, he criticised Mr Kasselakis’s decision to close down the Avgi daily newspaper. “Avgi is a historic newspaper and the suspension of the publication of the daily newspaper does not satisfy anyone”, he stated.
Mamoulakis: There is no black money in SYRIZA
Alongside Alexis Tsipras was also Haris Mamoulakis, who clearly distanced himself from Kasselakis’ criticism of the former prime minister. “If there was (black money) we wouldn’t be in this difficult fiscal situation,” he said and added that “black money in SYRIZA doesn’t even exist in the mind.” “SYRIZA is Alexis Tsipras. Such is his mark in the progressive space and especially in SYRIZA-PS that there is no question mark,” he said, still praising Alexis Tsipras.
