More specifically, 3,756 construction licenses were issued, corresponding to 873,036 m2. of surface and 3,285,556 m2. volume.
Construction activity increased by 39.8% in number of construction permits, 34.8% in area and 11.2% in volume compared to the same period of the previous year.
Licenses issued for private construction activity across the country amounted to 3,728 construction licenses in March this year, corresponding to 864,988 m2. surface and 3,248,483 m². volume, registering a 39.6% increase in the number of licensed works, a 37.7% increase in area and a 13.1% increase in volume, compared to the same month of the previous year.
Licenses issued for public construction activities across the country amounted to 28 construction licenses, corresponding to 8,048 m2. surface area and 37,073 m2. volume. The percentage of participation of public building activity in the total volume of buildings, relative to the month of March 2024, was 1.1%.
Positive signal in the 12-month period
At the 12-month level, that is, from April 2023 to March 2024, the size of total construction activity amounted to 29,512 construction permits, corresponding to 6,780,660 m2. surface area and 30,754,562 m2. volume.
Compared to the corresponding period from April 2022 to March 2023, there was a 14.0% increase in the number of licensed buildings, a 16.3% increase in area and a 16.2% increase in volume.
