A bat boy for the Los Angeles Dodgers may need a raise… as the guy grabbed a baseball just before it hit the team’s biggest star. Shohei Ohtani!!!
Check out the crazy video… just as Shohei was waiting to hit the on-deck circle during Los Angeles’ game against the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday night, a baseball flew into the dugout.
Give that kid a raise. He just saved Shohei Ohtani’s life.

Although Ohtani and others had the normal reaction to ducking…the bat stood in front of the designated hitter and caught a baseball bullet with his bare hands before it did serious damage.
After the surreal moment… the bat tried to play it cool – letting out a sigh before handing the ball to a fan in the stands. Ohtani seemed grateful for his effort, approaching him and appearing to thank him.
The Dodgers are also no doubt very grateful for the catch… as Ohtani has been killing it in Los Angeles this season. He currently has a .322 batting average with 25 home runs and 61 RBIs. Already fallen Mookie Betsthe NL favorites couldn’t afford to lose Shohei to dishonest baseball.
The moment didn’t seem to take Ohtani out of the game — he went 1 for 2 that night with a home run. He also drew two walks…as the Dodgers won 4-0.
