A Michael Jackson The impersonator celebrated MJ’s life by getting closer to his family – meeting Janet Jackson shortly before the 15th anniversary of his death… but it cost him dearly.
Carlos Riley, an MJ tribute artist, told TMZ … he finally met Michael’s sister after one of his shows this past weekend. Janet had just performed in St. Louis and Carlo attended the show.
He says he also decided to shell out an extra $2,000 for the experience of meeting and greeting Janet after the show.
Carlo says he’s been to Janet’s shows in the past and she’s pointed him out in the crowd before… but this was the first time they’ve met face to face, and he says she smiled when he thanked her for a great performance.
They took the photo and had a very quick exchange – another notch on Carlo’s Jackson belt. He has already taken photos with Prince, Paris, Catherine, Joseph, Jermaine, Titus, Marlon and Jackie.
Very cool… but Janet’s experience is still the second after Carlo met Michael himself in Japan. That was in 2007, at a Thriller 25th anniversary party.
The anniversary of Michael’s death was Tuesday, and Carlo said when he saw that Janet was performing just a few days earlier, he realized it would be a good way to celebrate MJ’s legacy.
Riley says Janet didn’t say anything about her brother’s death during her show, but she sang “Scream”…her 1995 collaboration with the King of Pop.
