Kandi Burruss is expressing his support for his longtime friend and former The Real Housewives of Atlanta Co-star, Kenya Moore. The hair care brand owner recently announced her departure from the reality show after 11 seasons with the show continuing his suspension by Bravo earlier this month. Moore was removed at the time due to alleged drama involving RHOA newcomer Brittany Eady.
“I wasn’t there, I can’t give details about what happened, but it makes me sad,” says Burruss, 47, in a clip taken from her On the road: tourist edition Live streaming on the Amazon storefront It is shared with X (formerly Twitter). “I’m not lying about how I feel because she’s my friend, I love her. I don’t know the other young lady, so it’s not a mockery of her.”
The dear ex RHOA cast member, who confirmed his departure from the series to ET in Februarycontinues, “Kenya, I know she struggles sometimes and I understand. But I’ve never seen her make anything up about anyone, and if there are things about you, when you’re on a reality show, people are able to pick up on things that you did and share them. And it doesn’t mean it’s always a cool thing to do or it’s a cool thing to do, but it happens. And I just hate it because of the situation, they decided to go their separate ways or something. like this.”
“And I just felt, well, wasn’t there anything else we could do? I just feel like Kenya is an important part of the show and I feel like it’s the end of an era,” she adds. “I think she was one of those people who made sure people talked about what they had to talk about. And so, now that she’s gone, I just want to see how this is going to work out.”
On Tuesday, ET confirmed that Moore, 53, would not return for Season 16 after she was suspended indefinitely from filming.
A source told ET at the time: “Kenya was suspended for allegedly depicting Brittany performing a sexual act at the grand opening of her Kenya Moore Hair Spa in Atlanta, from images allegedly found online. .”
Following the alleged event, Moore took to social media to defend herself, posting: “I would never engage in revenge porn, never distribute anyone’s private images or footage, nor solicit images owned by others to threaten or blackmail.” She maintained her innocence, adding: “I have always been justified.”
In response to his suspension, a source told ET that Moore has decided to part ways with the franchise, despite previously expressing interest in returning, declaring that she wasn’t “going anywhere” and receiving support from her castmates and longtime friends.
A separate source tells ET that at this point, it’s unknown how Moore’s exit will be handled on the show, if at all.
“It’s still early in the filming and they could just edit it, like Lizzy Savetsky in new York“, said the source.
Savetsky was a cast member in the rebooted version of The Real Housewives of New York City, but left the show at the start of filming. When the program premiered, she was completely left out of the edition.
On Wednesday, Moore took to Instagram and posted a photo of her 5-year-old daughter, Brooklyn, enjoying some R&R at the beach. In her caption, Moore clarified how she is doing and what she is thinking after parting ways with the Bravo series. She also refuted the allegations behind her exit.
“Thank you for all the support #teamtwirl. My heart is full and my conscience is clear,” she wrote in the caption. “So many false claims hidden behind anonymous sources. All this talk and no facts being reported. If a claim or source were valid, would they need to hide?”
She added, “My life is blessed. My daughter and I will continue to thrive in a non-toxic environment where we will feel appreciated and most importantly, protected. Thank you God for having us covered. 🙏🏾.”
The news that Moore is leaving the famous franchise comes just days after she resolved your divorce by New York-based restauranteur Marc Daly. As part of the divorce settlement, Moore was given “final decision-making authority” when it came to including Brooklyn in a television show or other economic opportunities.
This has been a point of contention dating back to last year, when Moore stated in Reality with the King podcast that Daly was trying to stop Brooklyn from appearing on his Bravo reality show.
Moore and Daly married in an intimate ceremony in St. Lucia in 2017. They welcomed Brooklyn in November 2018, and separated less than a year later in September 2019. The salon owner filed for divorce in May 2021 after four years of marriage to the New York restaurant owner.
