Jose Quinn character in Weird stuff may have came to a premature end in the fourth season from Netflix’s hit horror series – but in a world like the series’, does this really mean fans will never see the beloved Eddie Munson again?
Quinn walked the carpet at the New York premiere of her new sci-fi horror thriller, A peaceful place: first dayon Thursday at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater, and spoke with ET’s Rachel Smith about the possibility of making a surprise appearance in Weird stuff‘fifth and final season.
According to Quinn, “chances are high” that he will spend time with his former co-stars and the show’s creators in the future.
“I love these guys! I’d love to say hello,” Quinn said, seemingly teasing possible engagement while coyly keeping his response vague — like a true professional.
“I’m sure they’re working hard to land the plane,” Quinn said of the series’ final season. “It’s been a long time since they’ve been working on this, so I’m really happy that they’re getting to the end and having fun.
“I’m sure they’re going to deliver this in a pretty epic way,” Quinn added. “I have no doubt.”
When pressed about whether or not he has any doubts about Eddie Munson’s return, especially since many fans have a feeling it could happen, Quinn said, “I might have that feeling too.”
“Or maybe not,” he added with a laugh. “I don’t know! Who knows?”
While fans still have until next year for the next season of Stranger Things, Quinn’s next horror-fest, A peaceful place: first dayI will see him facing an invading alien force next to Lupita Nyong’o It is Djimon Hounsou.
It is the third film in the franchise and a prequel to the 2018 original. A quiet placedirected by Pork director Michael Sarnoski in his second feature film.
Quinn stars as Eric, a businessman who teams up with a young woman named Sam (Nyong’o) and her cat, Frodo, amid a terrifying invasion of monstrous aliens who hunt by sound and echolocation.
For Nyong’o, taking on the role was more challenging than she expected. As the actress explained to ET earlier this week“For starters, I had to overcome my fear of cats to make this film.”
“I was very afraid of cats before making this film. In fact, that’s why I was hesitant about whether or not to accept this role, because of my fear of cats,” she admitted. “I had to overcome my fear of cats before starting this film. But they were spectacular.”
Quinn reflected on her own experiences with needing to overcome fears to take on roles and explained, “I think every job has a certain set of fears that you have to overcome. I think you’re going into an environment that you don’t really know.”
“But I haven’t had anything as drastic as Lupita,” he added. “That was a pretty dramatic fear she had. She’s had a lot of therapy and now look where she’s come! She’s obsessed with cats now.”
Fans can catch Quinn and Nyong’o facing off against an alien invasion in the Big Apple when A quiet place: first day hits theaters on June 28.
