“Hawk Tuah” officially arrived in MLB on Wednesday night… when during a broadcast of the Braves vs. Cardinals, an announcer said the now-viral phrase live!
It all happened during the second inning of the team’s doubleheader at Busch Stadium… when the Atlanta announcers were talking about some saliva Alex Burleson it had just leaked out of his mouth.

The guys noticed that the St. Louis outfielder didn’t wipe his shoulder well with his saliva while at home plate — and they had a lively conversation about it.
“As he sat there and went to spit it out,” said one of them, “a little wet, I think, and his mouth getting a little dry, he couldn’t clean his arm and it fell right on his shoulder.”

The other broadcaster – who, like almost everyone in America this week, saw clearly Hailey Welchis famous NSFW street interview — responded appropriately… shouting, “HAWK TUAH!!!”
Both guys laughed… before getting back into the game action.
While it appeared to be the first time the phrase had been uttered into a hot mic during an MLB game… it actually wasn’t the first time someone had been seen referencing it.

Last week, Bryce Harper appeared to do a little “Hawk Tuah” impression after hitting a double during the Phillies’ contest with the Diamondbacks.
We’re sure there’s more to come, too… as Welch’s 15 minutes of fame certainly doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon.
