Danielle Oliveira is leaving Summer house – at least as a regular cast member – after seven seasons.
On Tuesday, the 35-year-old reality TV star announced her departure from the popular Bravo series ahead of Season 9. Olivera joined the series in Season 2 and recently made her first appearance in Season 3 of the spinoff. Winter House.
In an Instagram post, Olivera shared the news of her departure with her more than 260,000 followers, calling it a “heartbreaking” choice and sharing that she is grateful for the platform the show has given her so far.
“Hello my darlings, I wanted to share that I have made the painful decision to not return as a full-time cast member on the next season of Summer House,” Olivera began her post. “Obviously, this decision didn’t come without a lot of thought. Ultimately, I just need to trust my gut. If I can’t put 100% of myself into filming, genuinely and authentically, it really doesn’t feel right to do it full-time , the network, the production, my cast and especially all of you deserve this.”
Olivera continued: “Right now I need to protect and prioritize the things that are most important to me – my company, my people and, of course, myself.”
This isn’t the first time she’s taken a step back. In Season 4, Olivera opted to become a part-time cast member, which she even mentioned in her announcement on Tuesday.
“I was lucky enough to be able to take a step back in Season 4 as well and it ended up working out better than I imagined,” Olivera wrote. At the time, she shared that it was his busy life that led to the demotion of his role.
“Here’s the truth: I had the opportunity to take a reduced role last summer, aka: work part time,” she shared with her followers in a Instagram Update in May 2020. “And I’m so grateful for that.”
As for her new exit, Olivera assured fans that while they’ll likely see a lot less of her face when Season 9 premieres — likely in January or February — she’ll still support her friends on the show.
“However I am involved this summer, you can bet I will be rooting for another amazing season from my Summer House family. OMG Season 9 y’all!!!” Olivera concluded her written message, accompanied by photos of her “Summer House family” and a photo of her on a boat.
The exit comes after Season 8 saw a newly single Olivera looking for love anywhere outside of her home in the Hamptons. Olivera also spent most of the summer working to rebuild her friendship with her co-star. lindsay hubbard following their infamous 2022 feud.
Before that, fans could see Olivera negotiating the beaches of the Hamptons for the mountains of Colorado in Winter House Season 3, where she had a tumultuous time with the other cast members. She shared with ET in October that she decided to reinvent herself by joining the new reality show – whether it worked or not is up to the viewers to decide.
“I actually talked to myself before I landed in Steamboat Springs and I just said, ‘Listen, if you’re going to have fun, be selfish. Make it about you and only you, and don’t get involved in other people’s shit,” the businessman said. “It hasn’t been very good for you in the past, so stop doing it. So that’s what I did.”
