Linda Vee isn’t letting the negative comments about her honorary doctorate weigh on her. However, she addressed the backlash by leaning into her faith and encouraging others to stand firm in theirs.

Here’s How Pretty Vee Addressed Her Haters
Vee first shared the news of her honorary doctorate on her Instagram page last weekend. The Global International Alliance awarded him a degree in Humanitarianism for his “philanthropic efforts,” according to her post.
In her caption, she added: “The Bible says that the blessings of the Lord make rich and do not add pain. Today I honor God for every blessing he has given to my life. I pray that he will continue to guide me and walk in obedience so that I may eat the good of the earth. I thank you today for the fruits of the spirit that appear before my eyes.”
Well, these are the same feelings she leaned into while applauding people criticizing her achievement. Speaking on Instagram Live, she said her cap and gown photos had left people “crazy”.
“The last photo made a lot of you angry, but let me tell you something. God will choose foolish things to shame the wise. So when God qualifies you, he qualifies you. It qualifies you for higher levels…it’s acceleration season. It’s your Excel season. So don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do it and that you can’t be a part of anything.”
Additionally, Pretty Vee said she won’t go into detail about her graduation posts and suggested that those who are mad “deal with it.”
“Just because someone does skits and songs and this and that, don’t you know that God can use those people to do something with them?” Vee said. “People don’t understand that God can change your life in a second these days, and he’s been doing it for a long time. So at the end of the day, I don’t need to prove anything to anyone.”
Keeping in tune with her comedic side, Pretty Vee suggested that people “put some respect on (her) name” and call her “Dr. Great.”

Social media is up for grabs, but Rick Ross is here for it
As mentioned, people continue to comment on Pretty Vee’s response in The Shade Room’s comments section. She also entered, writing, “Again… God keep adding JESUS to the resume.” While fellow comedians like @blameitonkway wished him “congratulations,” other commenters weren’t as celebratory.
@breland wrote, “Ma’am, respectfully, people go to school to WORK to get a doctorate. An honorary doctorate sucks in its own way, but let’s not confuse it with an actually earned degree.
@mekasway added, “Bye girl… I signed a REAL DOCTOR!!!!”
“Honorary titles are literally equivalent to a participation trophy,” @juju_thee_enchanttress wrote.
@the_lighther said, “Honey, what are we respecting?? I can show you these involuntary student loans… You’re nice and all, but no one is calling you a doctor or respecting your name… when we actually work to get real degrees!! Working and going to school to get our degrees! Nawl, you respect our names! Because if it were easy, everyone would do it voluntarily and not honorably.”
Meanwhile, some other commentators, such as @lifeas_pmp, blamed universities for distributing the diplomas.
Among all the unimpressed people, there is someone from Pretty Vee’s past who has made it clear that she is here for it. Her alleged ex-boyfriend, Rick Ross, recently weighed in on her honorary doctorate, causing a small frenzy on social media with her response!
