paris hiltonis standing up for young people and not using voice… testifying before Congress on behalf of children in the welfare system and praising his own achievements in the field.
The socialite-turned-mogul was on Capitol Hill on Wednesday to testify about child abuse in the system — relating it to some of her own experiences — before diving into how she’s trying to solve the problems.
Check out the clip… Hilton mentions that she helped ban a number of harsh disciplinary practices, including restraint and seclusion, and she also pushed for more site visits to hold these foster property operators accountable.
However, Paris says she also has hopes on the federal stage… saying she wants Congress to reauthorize Title IV-B — a federal fund for states’ child welfare packages — and pass the Stop Institutional Child Abuse Act .
The bill was released more than a year ago – it has not yet been approved by the House or Senate – and would establish a more centralized system for monitoring and implementing youth placement.
In fact, this is just a small part of Paris’ testimony…’ the reason she once again detailed the physical, emotional and sexual abuse she says she suffered while at a residential youth therapy center.

Paris has in advance accused Utah’s Provo Canyon College of being more like an obedience camp, where she says students were locked up for 20 hours at a time and often humiliated by staff.
Although not a child welfare institution, Paris says she sees a parallel between her trauma and what she says many children in the system face.
This isn’t the first time Paris has rubbed elbows with politicians over this cause – she went to the White House and spoke to senators in both sides of the aisle again in 2022.
