It is bringing together – under the leadership of New Democracy Prime Minister and President Kyriakos Mitsotakis – the “Blue” Parliamentary Group, two and a half weeks after the European elections.
“Today’s meeting coincides with one year since ND’s great victory. in the June 2023 elections, this resounding mandate given to us by the citizens to put our plan into practice” said Mr. Mitsotakis at the beginning of his speech.
Within the scope of the meeting, it is expected to evaluate the electoral result and analyze the causes that led to ND’s losses. At the same time, movements in the following months will also be discussed, following the restart that the government is attempting.
In the past period there were “blue” leaders who focused on the need to address the party’s traditional audience. It remains to be seen whether at today’s meeting there will be complaints from deputies about the “openings” that have been made in recent years and whether there will be voices about the need to return “to the roots”.
