Bret “Epic” Mazur – who formed Crazy Town with Cunning Shell Shock – spoke to his late former bandmate a few months before he died… and said that SS seemed optimistic about the future.
We spoke to Epic Tuesday in the studio – and he told TMZ… Shifty was actually happy about making new music when they last spoke on the phone, and there was no indication that Shifty was in a bad place or going through anything out of the common.
TMZ broke the story…cops are investigating Shifty’s sudden death monday as a possible fatal overdose. But based on what his former bandmate is saying here… Seth was far from that reality.
Epic doesn’t tell us that nothing in their conversations led him to believe that something ugly was happening in Shifty’s personal life… and he’s absolutely shocked by Shifty’s death – not to mention devastated.

They founded Crazy Town together in 1995 – and Epic tells us they were first introduced through William — and although both hadn’t been in the group for the last decade, Epic says they still kept in touch… usually exchanging ideas about music.
Epic is remembering Shifty’s legacy here too… telling us some of Shifty’s craziest ideas for band promotions. Listen – it’s a really cool narrative and a great Shifty memory.

It’s an interesting and insightful conversation… and Epic looks back on all the good times they had at the studio. You can tell he is saddened by the untimely passing of his old friend.
