The Real Housewives of New Jersey needs to be cancelled. Okay, we said it.
If you think it’s too early to say goodbye to the franchise, then you’re in the minority.
The final season of this Teresa Giudice-focused series began on May 6 with very little fanfare… with ratings for episode 3 falling to the lowest level of the franchise.
Now, the season won’t even have fan-favorite reunion episodes because there’s so much animosity between the stars.
Real Housewives of New Jersey Canceled For Good? It seems like it could be
The May 20 edition drew just 699,000 viewers overall, of which only 160,000 were in the advertiser-friendly 18-49 demographic.
Will America finally be tired of these Garden State residents?
In particular, are they tired of a show that has become about Giudice and, in fact, about Giudice just several years ago?
Teresa isn’t very nice and she isn’t very interesting at the moment either.
O season 14 trailer made it clear that the focus, once again, would be on Teresa this spring and summer.
The main storyline to date has centered on Teresa’s marriage to Louis Ruelas, a controversial figure who may have “lost his money,” according to a cast member via the aforementioned preview.
There’s also tension between Margaret Josephs and friends Jenn Fessler and Jackie Goldschneider, the latter two of whom have formed a new bond with, you guessed it… Teresa.
“Is that who you want to associate with?” Josephs asks Fessler, later referring to Jackie as “Judas” while discussing their fight in conversation with Joe.
“Do you want to tell Teresa everything you’ve been doing behind her back?”
“I’m being friends with whoever I want, and I don’t care!” Jackie responds
Will an explosive fight save the show?
The trailer also shows an all-out BRAWL at a NJ restaurant. It likely won’t happen until the end, but the highlights could be what keeps fans hanging on.
Rachel Fuda talks to Giudice this season, yelling at her in one scene:
“You’re a bully, Teresa,” she says.
Giudice then responds: “Don’t poke the fucking bear.”
The response from many viewers here may well be, “We’re tired of watching that damn bear over and over again after all this time.”
Bravo made a mistake by bringing back EVERYONE Giudice, Melissa Gorga, Dolores Catania, Josephs, Jennifer Aydin, Danielle Cabral, Fuda, Goldschneider It is Fessler for The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14?
It’s starting to feel that way.
Why The Real Housewives Of New Jersey Reunion Special Was Canceled
The writing is already on the wall, given the news that the final season of RHONJ won’t even have a reunion episode.
Season 14 will end without a resolution, as for the first time in the series’ history, there will not be a traditional reunion.
During an appearance on See what happens live with Andy Cohen which aired on Sunday, June 9, Teresa broke the news of Bravo’s withdrawal from the reunion directly to Andy’s face. Of course, the other women won’t be seen with her, but perhaps that’s for a good reason.
Teresa revealed that she had already come up with a strategy on how she would deal with her rivalry with Rachel Fuda and her husband, John Fuda, and that she would let everything play out in the reunion special.
“It’s a shame we don’t have a reunion because I was going to bring an envelope and take something out of the envelope,” Teresa said, referencing a moment from the Season 13 reunion when John showed an envelope with supposed proof that her husband de Giudice, Luis Ruelas, was investigating his family – although he never opened the envelope.
“I was going to bring him tonight, but I want to make sure we have a meeting,” Teresa added, but Andy was quick to dodge the question. “Maybe we’ll have you back before the season ends,” he said.
