Brian Austin Green It is Sharna Burgess They are not in a rush to plan their wedding as they are already busy living life with a young child.
While speaking with ET’s Nischelle Turner on Monday at the Baha Mar Resort in Nassau, Bahamas, the 55-year-old Beverly Hills, 90210 actor and the 39-year-old man Dancing with the stars former student shared that although it has been almost a year since they announced their engagementa wedding is not in the plans anytime soon.
“We’re not planning much right now,” Green told ET, explaining how their busy lives are getting in the way of their nuptial plans. “We’re raising kids, like we’re – you know – in a new house.”
“We’re living — like, I put the ring on, so I’m happy,” Burgess added. “Life with a young child is very intense and life in the next two years is going to be so busy and packed for us that it’s like, this is hard.
Green and Burgess share a 1-year-old son, Zane, which turns 2 at the end of June. Meanwhile, Green is father to sons Noah, 10, Bodhi, 9, and Journey, 7, with whom he shares ex-wife Megan Fox. Green too has a 21 year old son, Kassiusof his relationship with Vanessa Marcil.
For Burgess – who is originally from Down Under – having her children and families participating in the big day is her top priority. She tells ET that they’re already thinking about how to incorporate kids and their loved ones into the celebration, though almost everything else is undecided.
“This is definitely a must for me – 100 percent,” Burgess said. “My friends and my family from Australia, I want to bring them wherever we decide to do this. Zane walking down the aisle too. I want him to hold the ring – he’s not old enough to trust him with that right now.”
In September, ET caught up with the couple at the iHeartRadio Music Festival Just days after going public with their engagement, they shared that all of the kids in their blended family were “super excited” about the engagement and participated in Green getting down on one knee.
“They were part of the proposal,” Burgess – who started dating the actor in 2020 – said at the time. “It was really beautiful.”
As for other non-negotiables, when they finally decide to get married – whenever and wherever that may be – there’s another slightly silly but important thing that Burgess is putting on their plate – literally and figuratively.
“A seafood tower, right?” Green asked his fiancée when she responded, “A seafood tower for me and my mom, for sure.”
Part of the difficulty in wedding planning — plus the fact that the couple’s soon-to-be 2-year-old son makes things a little more chaotic — is that Burgess says she’s witnessed too many incredible weddings to narrow down her own preferences.
“I saw Maks (Chmerkovskiy) and Peta (Murgatroyd)’s wedding – huge castle, princess wedding – I love it. Derek (Hough) and Hayley (Erbert) got married for the Redwoods, that was unbelievable,” she said. “I’m so spoiled for choice and seeing what my friends did that now I don’t know what I want.”
Chmerkovskiy and Murgatroyd married in July 2017 at Oheka Castle on Long Island. The couple hosted a lavish affair attended by dozens of their closest friends and family. Hough and Erbert tied the knot last year in Monterey County, California, after seven years together.
Once again, the couple told ET that they have plenty of time to figure out the details, especially as Zane enters the “terrible twos,” which they say began when they were on the plane ride to the Bahamas. Burgess joked that they are taking the good with the bad when it comes to their stubborn son.
“He’s going down the water slides and doing all this stuff and it’s so amazing to watch,” Burgess said before adding, “I don’t know if it’s necessarily cute, but everything I put on he’s like, ‘Mommy, I don’t like it. ‘ He wants me to take it off – the dress, the hat.”
She added: “I braided my hair for our slide (and he said), ‘Mommy, I don’t like it.’ He’s very bossy.”
Who knows, maybe little Zane could be a personal stylist in the making!
