Former wrestling star 2 Cold Scorpio – who won a WCW Tag Crew Championship with Buff Bagwell in the early 1990s – was arrested on June 15 for violently stabbing a man during a battle at a gas station… but he claims he acted in self-defense.
According to court documents, obtained by TMZ Sports ActivitiesThe bloody incident occurred around 3:40 a.m. at the Love’s Journey Stop in Kansas City, Missouri.
Authorities say 2 Chilly Scorpio – also known as Charles Scaggs – told them he was working security at the store… when he saw a man who had lit up a cigarette in the store.
The sufferer counts TMZ Sports Activities he did NOT light it inside the store – he says he thought the dart was thrown before entering the building, but it may not have been completely extinguished.
Scaggs acknowledged that he told the man he couldn’t smoke inside, but later claimed the man got upset… and said, “What the fuck are you going to do?”
Scaggs said the man then threatened him… and when the two finally left the store – he claimed the man tried to fight him.
During the altercation, Scaggs told authorities he took a knife from his pocket and stabbed the man in self-defense. The fighter said the altercation lasted a few moments longer – and in the fight, he managed to get a few more stab wounds as well.
Officers say after they arrived at the scene, they discovered the man who was stabbed lying on his bottom… bleeding from his head, chest, buttocks, legs and stomach. They added that he was transported to a local hospital… just as he was leaving and regaining consciousness.
According to the documents, however, investigators were able to contact him at the medical center later in the day… where they say he told them Scaggs was the aggressor in the situation.
Scaggs ended up being thrown behind bars… and slapped with two felony charges – one count of first-degree assault and one count of armed criminal action.
Data from the court case presented after bail, he claimed not to be responsible for the fees. He is due back in court for a hearing next month.
Scaggs broke into the world of professional wrestling again in 1985… and went on to compete for several promotions – including WWE.
While primarily wrestling as 2 Chilly Scorpio – he also used the stage name “Flash Funk”. In his profession, he has won several championship belts.
