Kyle Richards totally helps her ex-husband, Mauricio Umansky, in choosing to buy a $90,000 Porsche for their 16-year-old daughter.
While out and about in Los Angeles on Friday, the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star, 55, told TMZ that her youngest daughter, Portia, “deserves” the Porsche she and Umansky gave her as her first car.
Richards defended the expensive purchase, saying the car was “not as expensive” as reported, but she “understands” the criticism she and Umansky received.
Prices aside, she also shared that Portia is “an excellent driver.”
“She’s a straight-A scholar. She’s a great kid,” she said.
When asked if she thinks Portia deserves the luxury automobile, Richards responded, “I believe so.”
She also notably referred to Umansky, 53, as her “husband” as she told the outlet that buying the super expensive car was his idea.
“He works really hard and you can talk to him about (the car),” she said. “That was his purchase.”
Umansky was not present for Richards’ impromptu interview because the “Halloween” actress was accompanied only by one friend.
Richards’ new feedback about the Porsche came three days after the pricey bounty was revealed in clips posted to his daughter Sophia’s TikTok.
In one video, Portia can be seen walking out the front door of the family’s home in Encino, California. Immediately upon seeing the car, Portia, overcome with emotion, began to cry.
“Are you critical?” she said as she quickly changed into the luxurious all-black car – which appeared to be a Cayenne Coupe ranging in price from $84,700 to $203,000.
Richards and Umansky, who were joined by their 28-year-old daughter Alexia and 24-year-old daughter Sophia, walked over and hugged their youngest daughter.
Richards’ eldest daughter, Farrah Aldjufrie, 35, with whom she shares a previous relationship, was not current.
Seeing the whole family back together was a bit of a shock, as Richards recently revealed that her ex-husband moved out of the marital home in May – nine months after the couple revealed their split after 27 years of marriage.
The real estate agent moved into a bachelor pad in West Hollywood.
“I always knew that when this day came, it could feel awkward, very quickly,” she said at the time. “And that’s exactly what happened. I am a mother of 4 children and have a busy family.”
“The day he moved in was just weird because I came home and I was like, ‘Everything is so quiet,’” she recalled on an episode of the “Bitch Bible” podcast. “I was like, ‘Where is everyone?’”
Umansky moved his problems out of the marital home while Richards was “out of town” for a weekend. She admitted that the move was “the most sensible thing to do”.
“I didn’t want to be there to see it,” she said.
