Gordon Ramsay isn’t letting a scary bike accident and extreme, deep bruises stop him from filming. Days after his helmet “saved” his life, the world-renowned chef shared a video message from one of his cooking shows.
He took the importance of security while cycling and expressed gratitude that his accident was not more serious. To nail down his message, the ‘Master Chef’ creator lifted his apron to show off his purple skin around his ribcage and side.
See how Gordon Ramsay ended up looking like “a purple potato”
As mentioned, Gordon revealed his bike accident on Instagram on Saturday (June 15). He began his video introducing himself, while one of his hands shook violently. That’s also the word Ramsay used to explain how last week’s incident made him feel.
“…it really shook me,” he said. “I’m lucky to be here.”
Gordon gave credit to the “incredible” surgeons and doctors who treated his injuries at Lawerence + Memorial Hospital in New London, Connecticut. He also explained why cyclists, including children, should wear a “helmet” regardless of the distance of the trip or the cost of the safety tool.
“I’m in pain, it’s been a brutal week,” Gordon shared, reiterating his luck.
His face and arms looked fine, but when he lifted his shirt, the bruise seemed to be taking over one side of his chest and stomach and one side of his back.
His carousel post also included a photo of his helmet, which appeared to be badly scratched and burned from the impact. The yellow shirt the cycling enthusiast was wearing was also visibly torn.
“I’m fine and I haven’t broken any bones or suffered any serious injuries, but I’m a little bruised, looking like a purple potato,” said the Michelin-starred chef.
