Kate Middleton is getting closer to nature in the first photo of the Princess of Wales since she announced his cancer diagnosis on March 22. Kate took to social media on Friday to give her followers a lengthy update who shared that she will be in treatment “for a few more months.”
The update came with a new photo of the mother of three in which the princess, 42, leans against a lush tree dressed in jeans and a beige blazer.
“I have been overwhelmed by all the kind messages of support and encouragement over the last few months. It really made a huge difference to William and I and helped us through some of the toughest times,” Kate captioned the post. “I’m making good progress, but as anyone undergoing chemotherapy knows, there are good days and bad days. On those bad days you feel weak, tired and have to give in to resting your body. When you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling good.”
“My treatment is ongoing and will last a few more months. On days when I feel good, it’s a joy to participate in school life, dedicate my personal time to the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as getting to do a little work at home,” she added.
That said, Kate also announced that she will take part in King Charles’ birthday parade on Saturday, marking her first public appearance since announcing your cancer diagnosis.
“I’m looking forward to participating in the King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hoping to attend some public engagements over the summer, but also knowing that I’m not out of the woods yet,” she wrote before ending her update by thanking all for their “continuous understanding”.
In March, Kate shared that she had undergone abdominal surgery earlier this year and that her condition was thought to be non-cancerous. But tests after the operation “found that cancer was present”. At the time, Kate said she was going through “preventive chemotherapy” and was “in the early stages of this treatment.”
Kate has not revealed what type of cancer she has been diagnosed with. Yet wherever Prince William goes, people continue to ask him for health updates. That’s what happened last week, when he joined his father, King Charles IIIand Queen Camilla at an event commemorating the 80th anniversary of D-Day in Portsmouth, England.
In a video posted on X (formally Twitter), William give an update about his wife’s health. William is sitting next to a wheelchair-bound veteran who asks if his wife “is getting better.”
The Prince of Wales, 41, sweetly responds: “Yes, she would love to be here today.”
Friday’s health update comes after rampant speculation about Kate’s cancer treatment.
Online detectives speculated that she was in Houston, Texas, passing throughundergoing treatment at the renowned MD Anderson Cancer Center, but ET learned she was in the UKwith the summer holidays starting in early July for her and William’s three children – Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.
ET has also been told that the family has been splitting their time between Adelaide Cottage, near the children’s school, and their Norfolk home, Anmer Hall.
As the world continues to wonder how Kate is faring, royal expert Katie Nicholl recently told ET that the Princess of Wales has “turned a corner” in her cancer treatment.
“She’s tolerating this preventive chemotherapy better. I think she had a hard time at first. It’s strong medications that she’s on, but she’s tolerating it better and she’s doing better,” Nicholl said. “We have received reports from members of the public that she is out and about. I have heard from some people that…she is with the children. That is a very positive sign.”
