Kate Middleton cemented his first public appearance in six months with a triumphant return to the balcony of Buckingham Palace, flanked by the rest of the royal family, during the 2024 Trooping the Color on Saturday in London.
The Princess of Wales was all smiles dressed angelically in a white dress by one of your favorite British designers, Jenny Packham. Joining the mother of three on the balcony included her husband Prince William and children Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.

Trooping of the Color is a 260-year-old tradition marking the official celebration of the monarch’s birthday, which includes a huge parade made up of soldiers, horses and musicians. Kate participated in that parade Saturday morning, marking his first public appearance since December 25, 2023.
Kate was photographed sitting in the backseat of a car alongside her son, George, and husband, William, as the family of five arrived at the event. The famous royal was later seen smiling and waving from inside a carriage during the parade with her three children, including 9-year-old Princess Charlotte.
Kate made her final public appearance at a Christmas service in Norfolk, where she was also accompanied by her family. Since then, mother of three underwent abdominal surgery for an undisclosed reason in January and remained hospitalized for almost two weeks. At the time, Kensington Palace said it was “unlikely” that Kate would “return to public duties before Easter.”
Following speculation and conspiracies about her whereabouts as she has largely remained out of the public eye except for a few sightingsthe future queen resurfaced on March 22 in a video message, sharing that she had been diagnosed with cancer.
The fact that Kate chose to make Trooping the Color her first public appearance in six months sent a strong message, according to royal expert Katie Nicholl.
“It’s a very important image to project to the world,” Nicholl told ET.
She added: “So up there on that balcony you’re seeing the royal family together, despite having been through a very turbulent time. And I think this will send a very important message.”
