Surveillance footage has been released of a group of 20 people brazenly breaking into a Bay Area jewelry store in broad daylight — with the chaos ending in a police chase and arrests.
Check out this wild clip – the crew, dressed in full black ops gear, stormed PNG Jewelers in Sunnyvale, CA on Wednesday, with hammers and tools in hand… and made quick work of the windows, snatching a load heavy with shine before taking off.
The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety (DPS) revealed that the suspects fled in several vehicles before officers arrived. However, responding officers were lucky – they were able to spot two of the fleeing vehicles in the act.
The drivers of both vehicles played hardball – with officers saying they refused to stop, which turned into an all-out police chase. Officers lost sight of one car, but witnessed the suspects throwing stolen jewelry out of the other vehicle.
Eventually, the 5 suspects in the car hit the brakes and ran down the highway to a nearby industrial area. But, the cops finally caught up with them and they were taken into custody.
Those captured were booked into the Santa Clara County Jail, facing a long list of charges including armed robbery, vehicular evasion, resisting arrest, theft and vandalism.
The full value of the stolen item is not known at this time – but fortunately, some of it has already been recovered. The incident is still under investigation.
