In a “sustainable, resilient, fair and participatory” tourism development said the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis speaking in debate with the President of the Association of Greek Tourism Companies, Giannis Parashis, in the context of the 32nd Ordinary General Assembly of SETE, at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center. In fact, he noted that “the growth dividend must be distributed as fairly as possible throughout the country.”
Mr Mitsotakis insisted that “we cannot compromise and be complacent with our performance, our competitors do not stand still. Investment in quality and sustainability.”
The Prime Minister noted that front of government policy for the second 4 years is the increase in wages, “something that is already happening in the area of tourism”, as he characterized and explained that the government will be particularly strict observance of labor legislation, h which, as he said, should be completely self-explanatory. “Tourism workers must be well paid and satisfied with their working conditions,” emphasized Mr. Mitsotakis.
2023 is a landmark year for tourism
In fact, when asked about the matter, the Prime Minister repeated that “as soon as there is fiscal space, the first intervention will be to reduce employer contributions”.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis insisted that “2023 was a landmark year for tourism and added that “we have every reason to be satisfied with the performance of tourism both in terms of general indicators of arrivals, income and employment and in terms of crisis management, such as the one in a specific island and it was resolved immediately.”
