Firefighters managed to put out the fire in the tanker truck that overturned at kilometer 75.5 of the Athens-Corinth National Road, at the tip of the Isthmus, causing a series of explosions, but firefighters remain at the scene.
The fire was caused by gasoline spilled on the road.
The driver was unharmed and has no burns, but has some injuries resulting from the rollover and was taken to Corinto hospital. There is no one else injured.
Due to the fire, traffic in the area was interrupted in both directions, creating kilometer-long queues. Just before 11.30pm, a 112 message was sent about long delays at the scene.
