The company acquired by Peter Parker… an invasive species of spider is preparing to invade New York, and these arachnids can fly through the air like Spider-Man!
We in New York and New Jersey are preparing for the arrival of the Joro spider, a large venomous species of eight-legged creature known for its ability to parachute across the city. They have spread along the Japanese coast, heading immediately towards the Northeast.
Take a look at this… Female Joro spiders have leg spans that reach 10 centimeters and are known for using their silken webs to make balloon shapes that allow them to be transported through the air.
This is an easily identifiable characteristic, plus they’re easy to spot even when you’re not parachuting into your nightmares – because Joro spiders have bright yellow and gray bodies.
An invasive species of spider with roots in East Asia, the Joro first arrived in North America in 2010… after being noticed in Georgia – almost definitely hitching a ride on shipping containers.
Since then, they have invaded Florida, the Carolinas, Alabama, Mississippi, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio and Maryland.
Consultants say the northeastern climate is an ideal home base for Joro spiders… and it’s only a matter of time before they start appearing in New York and beyond.
Life in the metropolis suits these spiders very well… they have been seen hanging from telephone poles and road lamps, not in contrast to the superhero.
More harmful information… they ARE poisonous, but experts say they are not deadly to humans and our pets – as they are more likely to devour other spiders and insects.
However, these particularly creepy crawlers are not easy on the eyes, especially if they are floating across the sky towards you!
