Halsey is manifesting a more modern and healthy Halsey in her 30s. The 29-year-old singer, who uses she/they pronouns, hinted at some critical medical issues as she released her latest single “The Finish” from her upcoming fifth album.
Furthermore, it appears that his most recent challenges have been reflected in his musical output. The video montages they shared include time in the studio and time in the hospital, while the lyrics to “The Finish” echo their messages that they are facing some critical health issues.

The first video clip from the “With out Me” singer’s Instagram carousel post shows the singer rubbing her legs and lamenting, “I feel like an old woman.”
After a few moments, they turn to the camera and say, “I told myself I’m giving myself two more years to be sick. At 30, I’m being reborn and I’m not going to get sick, I’m going to look tremendously hot and have a lot of vitality and I’m just going to redo my 20s at 30. Severely.”

This was followed by a look at “Day 1 of therapy,” though Halsey didn’t specify what type of treatment or for what. Another video showed the artist with a shaved head, playing guitar in the studio, while the final scene was a quick montage of tears, drugs and more hospital visits leading Halsey to emotionally listen to his music.

The Lupus Research Alliance, which Halsey tagged, also commented, adding, “Thank you @iamhalsey for bravely sharing your story. Sending our help and greatest needs. Congratulations on the release of your new album and single, ‘The Finish’. Your message is inspiring to us all. ”
Featured in the video carousel, “The Finish” touches on Halsey’s medical issues, too, with the artist decrying: “Every two years, a doctor says I’m sick / Pulls out a new bag of medicine / And then they put it by my account.”
The track details different health issues and how they became part of Halsey’s life, eliminating the narrative that they would “never die”, leaving the singer very aware of her mortality. “I know it’s not the end of the world, but can you pick me up at 8? / ‘Activate my therapy and start right now.
Halsey also announced that proceeds from this single will go to the Lupus Research Alliance and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. They’ve previously opened up about being diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Sjogren’s syndrome, activated cell syndrome, postural tachycardia syndrome (POTS), and endometriosis.
