With reports of irregularities, the polls in Serbia closed at 8 pm and the counting of votes began.
It was in Belgrade repeated elections since no mayor was elected in the previous one, last December although irregularities were also reported by the opposition and foreign observers.

Serious irregularities were also registered by the opposition during today’s electoral process.
As reported, it was found in many municipalities the transfer of voters from other municipalities where elections are not held, as well as many cases electoral financing by the Serbian Progressive Party.
We had incidents in Belgrade and Novi Sad, where opposition activists tried to stop the ruling party’s telephone exchanges from working.
According to the research company IPSOSan hour before the polls closed in Belgrade, 42% of those registered on the electoral roll had voted, a percentage reduced by 12 points compared to December 2023, when turnout at the polls, at the same time, reached 54%.
The first indicative results are expected just before midnight.
In the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) they are preparing to celebrate.
The President of the Republic, Aleksandar Vucic, arrived at the Party headquarters and expressed his certainty that the combination led by his party and which bears his name, will achieve a “convincing victory”.
It should be noted that the largest opposition parties did not participate in today’s elections, arguing that the democratic conditions for holding them are not met.
