What Caitlin Clark said
The former Iowa Hawkeye is being challenged by the physicality of women’s professional basketball and recently expressed her frustration during a postgame conference. The guard believes there is a double standard.
“I think everyone is physical with me,” the 22-year-old said. “They get away with things that other people probably can’t,” she continued.
Caitlin added, “It’s difficult, but that’s just the reality. This is a very physical game and you will be under pressure, this is professional basketball.”
She has accepted that the alleged behavior is exactly what she has to deal with. “It is what it is, honestly,” the Indiana Fever player said before adding, “I feel like I’m being hammered.”
During a game against the Seattle Storm on Thursday, May 30, 2024, Caitlin and guard Victoria Vivianes they apparently exchanged words after making contact. They stared at each other before Clark was carried away by a teammate. Both players received technicians for the incident, which marked the third during the debut season of their professional career. She has played nine matches so far.

After the game, the rookie told ESPN that Carter’s action was not a “basketball play,” according to the New York Post Office.
“Yeah, that’s not a basketball play,” Caitlin Clark said. “But you know I have to play this, that’s what basketball at this level is all about. I thought we were very physical, we lost a couple of bunnies on the edge, so I hope they fall into the fourth.”
Angel Reese’s Response to Roughness in Wood
As previously reported by The Shadow Room, Chi Barbie also faced tough plays in the big league. Earlier this week, Alyssa Thomas of the Connecticut Sun team made contact with Reese’s neck, which caused her to take a hard fall. Thomas was ejected from the game for the flagrant foul.
The LSU graduate said she knew the game would be “difficult,” but she said: “This is what I was built for.”
A reporter asked her if she believed Thomas was trying to message her because she was new. Reese responded: “It’s not just because I’m a newbie. I’m a player. And I’m a basketball player.” She stated, “They don’t care if I’m a newbie.”
The 7th pick in the WNBA draft said: “I want them to come to me every day.” Angel added, “They shouldn’t be nice to me or lie down because I’m Angel Reese or because I’m a newbie.”
Although Caitlin Clark is apparently having a hard time adjusting, according to CBS, she is on pace to become the first rookie to average 15 points, five assists and five rebounds per game.
