Sofia Vergara isn’t worried about covering up her ex-husband’s tattoo Joe Manganiello. In fact, she sees it as an opportunity to “recycle.”
During an appearance on Friday The conversationVergara shows off a pair of small, sentimental tattoos as she manages to leave the audience in shock.
Showing the ink to the camera, Vergara first raises her left wrist with the initial “R” in honor of her late brother, Rafael. Then, she shifts focus to the letter “J” tattooed on her right wrist.
“This was Joe Manganiello’s initial, but now he’s gone,” she jokes, leaving the entire studio in hysterics.
“So, now my new one,” she begins, before being interrupted to ask what she plans to do with the emblem.
“The guy I’m dating has the same initial!” she declares, referencing her boyfriend, Dr. Justin Saliman.
The topic comes up after Vergara’s son – Manolo Gonzalez Vergara, who is sitting next to her during the interview – is asked for the first time about how many tattoos he has.
Urging his mother to “cover her ears,” he says he’s about 34 “at this point.”

“I gave him beautiful brown skin, you know, like Latina,” she says. “And now you can’t see anything. You can’t see, you just see these little things here.”
From then on, Manolo puts her on the defensive when he criticizes her for having “two tattoos” of her own.
In February, Vergara and Manganiello agreed to settle their divorce less than a year after they had announced that they would quit in July 2023.

The former couple was married for seven years after getting married in 2015 amid a whirlwind romance.
Vergara previously explained in an interview with Spanish El País Because they decided to divorce last year.
“I recently divorced my second husband, who I was with for 10 years. My marriage ended because my husband was younger,” she said. “He wanted to have kids and I didn’t want to be an elderly mother. I feel like it’s not fair to the baby. I respect anyone who does that, but it’s not for me anymore.”
“I had a son at 19, who is now 32, and I’m ready to be a grandmother, not a mother,” Vergara added about her and Joe Gonzalez’s son, Manolo. “So if love comes, it will have to come with (your) children. I’m almost through menopause; it’s the natural way of things. When my son becomes a father, let him bring the baby to me for a while and then I will give it back to him and move on with my life;
As for your new love, a source recently told ET that things between Vergara and Saliman “got more serious.”
“They are having so much fun together and really enjoy each other’s company,” the source said last month.
Saliman, a respected orthopedic surgeon, was impressed by Vergara’s vivacious personality. “Justin loves Sofia’s enthusiasm, character, sense of humor and how hardworking she is,” the source shared. “They love having fun at dinner nights and having natural chemistry, whether it’s just the two of them out or with friends too.”
Manganiello, in turn, moved on with Caitlin O’Connor.
A source told ET in March that the two are “serious”.
“They are in the honeymoon phase and in complete and utter happiness,” the source said. “They have been traveling together, going out on fun nights and having a lot of fun. They look forward to taking more trips together and continuing to create memories as a couple.”
According to the source, Manganiello and O’Connor “both feel like they’ve finally found the right person and are excited about the future.”
